The Cranborne Audio N8 is a sophisticated audio distribution hub within the innovative C.A.S.T system, offering eight inputs and eight outputs through DSUB connectors. These analogue signals are seamlessly converted into the C.A.S.T system format and transmitted via CAT 5e cables while remaining compatible with CAT 6 and CAT 7 cables. This versatile breakout box establishes connections with your audio interface, AD/DA converter, mixer, or audio setup, accommodating up to four C.A.S.T devices, including the N22 and N22H breakout boxes and the EC1 mic preamp. This setup enables the distribution of up to 16 audio channels.
Each of the four C.A.S.T ports facilitates four audio channels (2-in/2-out) through a single network cable, offering the dual benefits of reducing cable clutter and enabling cable runs of up to 100 meters without losing audio quality. Moreover, it brings cost savings, as network cables are notably more budget-friendly than traditional audio cables.
Furthermore, the Cranborne Audio N8 boasts routing flexibility, allowing each C.A.S.T channel to transmit or receive audio independently or from channels 1-2.
The Cranborne Audio N22H represents a compact, reference-grade headphone amplifier and breakout box with C.A.S.T compatibility.
This versatile device facilitates the seamless distribution of audio across C.A.S.T-enabled equipment, utilizing cost-effective CAT 5 cables to cover distances of up to 100 meters, all while preserving the utmost audio quality.
Primarily designed to interface with the 500R8 and 500ADAT systems, the N22H can also establish a connection with another N22H unit to transmit a stereo mix over considerable distances, making it an ideal choice for live performances or studio setups.
The built-in headphone amplifier delivers exceptional performance for direct monitoring and can function independently through the line output sources. It employs the same high-current design featured in the 500R8 and can be powered by a standard 9V battery or an external 9V power supply. The amplifier has the capability to drive any type of headphones, boasting a 0.33 Ohm output impedance and delivering up to 500mA of power with an incredibly low distortion rate (THD: 0.0003% at 1kHz) in its signal path.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and durable construction, the N22H proves to be an indispensable tool not only for home, project, and professional studios but also for live performances.
