An Outstanding Thunderbolt Audio Interface

The Universal Audio Apollo Twin X Duo boasts Universal Audio's latest AD/DA conversion which delivers an impressive 127dB of dynamic range with -117dB THD+N for a spacious and organic sound that outperforms any interface in its class and rivals dedicated high-end converters.

Besides its two preamps and line outs, the Apollo Twin X boasts optical ADAT/SPDIF input to connect to an external mic preamp and grow your system. It also includes a built-in talkback microphone.

Unison Mic Preamps

With two Unison Mic preamps, the Apollo Twin X Duo lets you record through exacting emulations of Neve, Helios, API, Manley and UA mic preamps, recreating not only the tone but input impedance, gain stage and component-level circuit behaviour of the original units for unmatched emulations, all with near-zero latency. 

One additional Hi-Z instrument input is also provided to deliver perfect impedance and gain matching for guitar and bass amp models from Fender, Marshall, Ampeg and many more.

UAD Processing

The Apollo Twin X Duo boasts two SHARC DSP processors to record or mix with the full range of UAD Powered plug-ins including emulations from Neve, Studer, Helios, API, Lexion, Manley, Fender, Capitol Studios and many more.

Thoughtfully placed next to the converters, the DSP processors let users record through UAD plug-ins at near-zero latency. It's like recording through some of the best hardware by SSL, Manley, Avalon, Helios, API or Neve.

Build a Scalable Recording System over Thunderbolt

Besides its two preamps and line outs, the Apollo Twin X boasts optical ADAT/SPDIF input to connect to an external mic preamp and grow your system. It also includes a built-in talkback microphone.

The Apollo Twin X is scalable, combining up to four Thunderbolt Apollos and six total UAD-2 devices. This allows you to grow your system as your needs grow. In this configuration, the Apollo Twin X becomes a monitor control of your entire Apollo system with additional I/O and DSP power.

Apollo interfaces are compatible with any DAW offering low-latency recording via their Console interface.
