The Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II Connect 8x8MP Thunderbolt is a flagship modular Thunderbolt audio interface featuring Apogee's premium AD/DA conversion, eight Advanced Step Gain Architecture microphone preamps, 8x8 analogue I/O, AES and ADAT digital connectivity, expandable modular architecture, ultra-low latency performance and support for up to 32 inputs and 32 outputs for professional recording, mixing, mastering and immersive audio production.

Flagship AD/DA Conversion

The Symphony I/O Mk II Connect 8x8MP delivers the exceptional audio quality that has established Apogee as one of the industry's leading converter manufacturers. Its premium analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue converters capture every detail with remarkable transparency, making the interface suitable for critical recording, mixing and mastering applications.

The converters achieve an impressive 122dB A-weighted dynamic range on the analogue inputs and an outstanding 126dB A-weighted dynamic range on the analogue outputs. Extremely low distortion figures of just 0.00020% THD+N on the inputs and 0.00014% THD+N on the outputs ensure pristine signal integrity throughout the recording chain.

Eight Premium Microphone Preamps

The Connect 8x8MP module incorporates eight of Apogee's Advanced Step Gain Architecture microphone preamps. These high-performance preamps provide transparent gain with excellent headroom, allowing engineers to capture vocals, instruments and ensembles with exceptional clarity and consistency.

By integrating eight microphone preamps alongside premium conversion within a single module, the Symphony I/O Mk II offers outstanding channel density without compromising audio performance, making it equally suitable for studio recording, live recording, broadcast and post-production environments.

Flexible Modular Architecture

One of the Symphony I/O Mk II's greatest strengths lies in its modular design. Users can configure the interface to match their exact studio requirements, selecting from Thunderbolt, Pro Tools with Dante, or Waves SoundGrid connectivity options.

Dual module slots allow up to 32 analogue inputs and outputs per unit, while multiple Symphony I/O Mk II interfaces can connect through a single Thunderbolt system to create larger recording systems for demanding production environments.

Special Edition I/O modules further enhance the platform by offering Apogee's highest-performing conversion system for engineers who require maximum sonic performance.

Thunderbolt 3 Performance

The Thunderbolt version delivers exceptionally low latency, making it ideal for native DAW workflows including Logic Pro, Pro Tools and other professional recording software.

Each unit supports up to 32 simultaneous input and output channels while maintaining responsive monitoring and recording performance, allowing producers and engineers to work confidently on demanding recording sessions without latency becoming an issue.

Optimised for Immersive Audio

Modern production increasingly demands immersive audio capabilities, and the Symphony I/O Mk II provides comprehensive monitor workflow support for Dolby Atmos, Sony 360 Reality Audio and other immersive formats.

Users can configure monitoring systems with control over up to 32 speaker outputs directly from the interface, simplifying setup and calibration for advanced surround and immersive monitoring environments.

Intuitive Touchscreen Operation

A large front-panel touchscreen gives immediate access to system configuration, routing, monitoring and calibration without relying solely on software control. This streamlined interface makes setup faster while simplifying day-to-day operation in busy studio environments.

Comprehensive Connectivity

Alongside its eight microphone preamps and eight analogue inputs and outputs, the Connect 8x8MP includes both AES and ADAT digital I/O, allowing straightforward integration with external converters, digital processors and additional recording equipment.

The front-panel headphone output benefits from Apogee's proprietary Constant Current Drive technology, delivering a consistent frequency response across a wide range of headphone impedances while providing ample power for both high and low impedance headphones.

Built for Professional Studios

The Symphony I/O Mk II serves equally well in commercial recording studios, project studios, post-production facilities, scoring stages, broadcast environments, educational institutions, houses of worship and live sound applications.

Its combination of expandable modular architecture, industry-leading conversion, flexible connectivity and professional monitoring capabilities allows it to grow alongside evolving studio requirements while maintaining the exceptional sound quality expected from Apogee.
