The Audix A231 is a Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone with an externally biased “true condenser” capsule, a consistent cardioid polar pattern and low noise circuitry.
The Audix A231 is designed to capture every nuance of the human voice as well as the rich overtones of acoustic instruments. It captures all sources with incredible detail and richness. The 33mm condenser capsule features a precision-tensioned diaphragm using a unique heat-treated film with gold-sputtered evenly throughout the far edges to create a greater area of effectiveness compared to traditional designs.
The A231 also provides effective reduction of reflections and diffractions inside the grille to ensure the most transparent sound possible. An internal shock mount also isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations, removing the need for external mounts. It also includes a proprietary impedance control between the capsule and circuitry to ensure consistent performance across a wide range of situations.
