This Pro Tools HDX system offers compatibility not just with Avid's own hardware but also with third-party audio interfaces, enhancing user flexibility in choosing their preferred gear.
The Avid Pro Tools HDX PCIe Card and Ultimate Software are now available as a package without an Audio Interface. You still require one to run a full HDX system, but for the first time, Avid opened the system to 3rd-party audio manufacturers and has been compatible with their own Avid Hardware i/o.
The Pro Tools HDX DSP card connects to your favourite AD/DA converter and provides the basis for the ultimate Pro Tools System for Music and Production.
This bundle comes with Pro Tools Ultimate Software, and to increase your power and track, you can add additional cards, supporting the AAX 64-bit plug-in format for better workflow and sound parity with native systems.
Note: Pro Tools 12.6 and above require a DigiLink I/O License to enable Avid and 3rd party I/O to work together (currently available only through the Avid website for $299).
