Enhanced Audio Coloration
The Black Box Analog Design HG-2 uses dual valve design with 6U8A Pentode and 12AX7 stages, creating a range of audio enhancements from subtle harmonic touches to full saturation, perfect for adding life to mixes.
The Black Box Analog Design HG-2 is a stereo mixbuss saturation device designed to add colour, natural compression and increased RMS on the masterbus. It is ideal for mixing and mastering, adding colour and texture easily without sacrificing the sound.
The Black Box HG2 uses a combination of 6U8A Pentode and 12AX7 valve stages to deliver subtle harmonic enhancement to full on saturation. A Cinemag input transformers feeds both paths which are then controlled by a 3-way tilt switch which affects the frequency content of the signal feeding the circuit. The Low position saturates all the low and mid content while the Flat position saturates the full bandwidth. The high position only affects high mid and high frequencies to add a sheen to dull tracks without affecting the rest of the signal.
The Harmonics dial lets you control how much of the harmonically enhanced signal is fed into the pentode stage. An Air switch also adds a subtle lift of the top end while the “Alt” control lets you choose between two different 12AX7 valves in the parallel circuit.
The HG-2 is extremely versatile and can bring a mix back to life with its unprecedented level of control.

Featuring a 3-way tilt switch, the HG-2 allows users to selectively saturate low, mid, or high frequencies, providing flexibility to enhance specific elements of a track without overwhelming the entire mix.
The HG-2 includes an "Air" switch that subtly enhances the top end frequencies, adding clarity and sheen to tracks that may sound dull, thus improving the overall brightness and presence of the audio.
