The BURL Black BAD16 is a 16-channel, class-A, discrete transistor, transformer-coupled analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) daughter card for the BURL Audio B80 and B16 Motherships, featuring the NextGen analogue section with the new BX8 transformer for higher channel density and exceptional audio fidelity.
Enhanced Channel Density and Superior Technology
The BAD16 offers a significant improvement in channel density by employing the BX8 transformer, a smaller input transformer that allows for more channels in the same space. This increase in density, combined with BURL Audio's renowned class-A analogue technology, delivers exceptional sound quality at a lower cost per ADC channel compared to the existing BURL Green line.
Perfect for Musicians and Project Studios
Incorporating the BAD16 into a B16 chassis provides an affordable 16-channel input solution, making the superior sound quality of the Mothership system accessible to musicians and smaller studios. This cost-effective solution allows studios to achieve professional-grade analogue-to-digital conversion without exceeding their budget.
Scalable for Large Input Channel Requirements
The BAD16 also scales effectively for high-input channel needs when used in the B80 chassis. Up to 128 input channels can be achieved in a single B80, using eight BAD16s and a BMB2-MADI or BMB3-DANTE at 44.1kHz or 48kHz. For a balanced setup, a 64 input x 64 output configuration can be implemented using any B80-BMBx motherboard in conjunction with the BDA16 for a fully integrated solution.
