The Ex Machina Quasar mkII features low-distortion, long-stroke design subwoofers with rigid aluminium diaphragms, providing immense bass precision and reach. These custom SEAS Extreme Series subwoofers ensure superior low-frequency performance, making them an integral component of the Quasar mkII's sound signature.
At the heart of the Quasar mkII's midrange and high-frequency performance are bleeding-edge Composite Sound Metamodal TeXtreme diaphragms. These ultralight, ultra-stiff carbon fabrics, with optimised fibre geometries, actively control and suppress resonances. The mathematically optimal midrange waveguide shape, underhung surround, and optimised point source acoustic centre alignment provide superb off-axis response. The state-of-the-art, super-low-distortion neodymium motor design further enhances audio fidelity.
The Quasar mkII incorporates flagship AKM Velvet Sound AK4493/AK5572 based conversion, ensuring no sonic footprint is left behind. Hypex Ncore amplifiers deliver clean, efficient power, while the 5th generation SHARC+ DSP hardware processes vast amounts of data quickly, maintaining high fidelity and precision in sound reproduction.
The sealed Valchromat cabinets of the Quasar mkII are stiff, dense, and well-damped, avoiding the chuffing or group delay commonly found in ported designs. This construction ensures a clean, precise sound with minimal distortion.
