The Gainlab Audio Empress is a modern reinterpretation of the classic Pultec EQP-1A, featuring a dual-channel tube passive EQ design.
The Empress boasts three bands on each channel, offering versatile control over low and high frequencies. These bands can be configured as shelves or bells, with separate boost and cut controls to craft resonant shelf curves. Furthermore, low-boost and high-cut settings allow for shifts in mid-frequency, altering the relationship between boost and cut.
The Mid-frequency band covers a range of 200Hz to 7kHz and can be engaged in both boost and cut modes, granting flexibility in sound shaping.
This EQ incorporates a tube amplifier stage utilizing Military-grade vacuum tubes, offering the option to enhance colouration with the Tube Boost switch.
The Gainlab Empress proves exceptionally adaptable suitable for various audio tasks, from recording and mixing to mastering. Each control is equipped with stepped attenuators, ensuring precision in settings and easy recall for consistent results every time.
