The Geithain RL921K1 is an active studio monitor with high-headroom and cardioid polar pattern akin to the larger RL901K.
The Geithain RL921K1 is designed for nearfield or midfield applications with optimised listening distance between two to three metres. The large 12” linear 300mm long-throw driver is housed in a cardioid cabinet which offers superior back walls reflection control. Furthermore, the 100mm (4”) midrange cone and 25mm (1”) dome tweeter are mounted coaxially in front of the bass driver for further increasing the directivity index of the speaker. The result is a homogenous sound with virtually no colouration and focused sound sound with precise stereo imaging.
With a cardioid polar pattern between 30 to 250Hz, the RL9021K1 offers superior performance in listening rooms, greatly reducing back wall reflections and offering better integration in most rooms.
All three drivers are powered by a three-channel MOSFET power amplifier with built-in crossover. A built-in limiter is provided to protect the speaker which reduces the signal by 20dB to protect the speakers from overloading. An intermittent LED lights up when the speaker is overloading.
The shortened cabinet is designed to accommodate smaller rooms with not enough depth such as broadcast vans or smaller studios.
