The Hammer Audio HA-69 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone inspired by the legendary vintage microphones with a US-made K-67-style capsule custom Sowter transformer and NOS military Spec Mullard Vacuum Tube.
The Hammer Audio HA-69 is a no-compromise microphone that offers nine polar patterns (ranging from Omni to Bi-directional) and contains two different modes, B and C, each with its own classic analogue audio circuit. A soft mute system minimises the risk of damage to speakers and other audio equipment while switching between the two modes.
The HA-69 uses a Peluso K-67 Capsule, hand-assembled by John Peluso in the US as well as a customer Sowter transformer and NOS Military Spec CV4507 Vacuum tubes based on Mullard’ EC70 design. The Vacuum Tube is built to incredibly high standards to reduce microphonics, and offer superior resistance to temperature changes.
The HA-69 includes a 3-position high-pass filter offering a choice between 40Hz and 180Hz low-frequency cut. The centre position of the switch turns the filter off. The microphone also includes a voicing circuit that tunes the frequency response between flat or with more high-frequency content.
Additional controls are available on the included Power Supply Unit and include the 9-polar patterns including Omni, Cardioid and Figure-of-eight as well as in-between patterns. A pad switch is also included offering -14dB padding to use the microphone with loud sources. The PSU has been developed especially to power this microphone and is handbuilt in the UK to offer the best performance.
The microphone comes in a custom flight case with the power supply, a custom 3m 7-pin XLR cable to connect the microphone to the power supply and a shock mount.
