The Leaf Audio Microphonic Playground is a passive sound design instrument designed for sonic exploration and discovery and a great companion to the Microphonic Soundbox.
The Leaf Audio Microphonic Playground uses a contact microphone to capture the sound generated by the box. This means that all sounds made on the box can be heard in a very close and direct way. Consider it like listening to the materials from the inside, in an ASMR-like manner.
The Microphonic Playground comes with a raft of add-ons to create a world of sounds from metal scraping, to rubber bands and more. It also includes a bass Kalimba accessory that can easily mount onto it.
As it is a passive instrument, the Microphonic Playground will need a preamp such as those found on a mixer or audio interface to boost the level. Alternatively, it can be connected to the Microphonic Soundbox input to extend the instrument's possibilities.
With both an input and an output, several Microphonic Playground units can be chained together to create a powerful sonic laboratory.
