Exact re-issue of the legendary U47 FET microphone
The Neumann U47 FET is a limited edition exact reissue of the legendary microphone originally released in the 1960’s.
The Neumann U47 FET has long been the go-to microphone for countless producers and engineers throughout the decades. Different from the original U47 by the use of the latest amplifier technology the U47 FET rapidly became a classic in its own right.
Based around the same original Neumann K47 dual diaphragm capsule, the U47 FET used a BV8 transformer coupled-output using a different winding technique. The capsule was suspended inside the headbasket to minimise mechanical noise.
The fixed super-cardioid polar pattern meant more rejection for the sides which meant it could be more easily placed within the studio and was often used on vocals, overheads, kick drums, guitars, bass, room mics and more. It also became very popular in broadcast for its ability to add presence and weight to a voice.
Now Neumann is making this legendary microphone available again and unlike many U47 clones, the U47FET is an exact replica of this recording classic.
