The PMC IB1S-AIII is a three-way active studio monitor for recording and mixing studios, mastering and broadcast facilities, using many improvements found on the IB2S-A.

The PMC IB1S-AIII features the same award-winning Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) technology, proprietary low-frequency carbon fibre and Nomex 10" flat piston driver isolated three-inch midrange driver and 27mm soft dome high-frequency driver as the original IB1S-A design. The activated design uses the popular PMC DS-001 Class D power amp which is housed at the back of the speaker and delivering an impressive 400W of power.

Using some of the features of the IB2S-A the ATL cabinet is now lined with newly engineered absorptive foam to minimise harmonic distortion and deliver superior definition. This translates in much clearer bass and transparent midrange uncoloured by low frequencies. In addition, the updated cabinet features extra internal bracing, further reducing crosstalk and resonances.
