The rockruepel comp.two is a flexible vari-mu compressor developed for mastering, mixing, and recording. Its distinctive audiophile approach results in a pure and very transparent sound.
The rockruepel comp.two is the culmination of years of research and development to provide the greatest sounding contemporary vari— compressor. This stereo/dual-mono compressor is designed for professional use daily.
The comp.two's function is built on an optimised vari-mu design that never compromises on high-end components and a minimalistic approach.
The comp.two is constructed with fully-balanced tube circuitry. SOWTER input- and output transformers, two high-end coupling capacitors, and input and output tubes constitute the main audio path (NOS 6N3 and 6CG7).
Each channel has its own power supply following a real dual mono-design. A trim-pot placed behind tiny perforations in the robust front plate can be used to calibrate the VU-meters. All switches employ relays or determine control voltage directly. The two bypass switches have independent circuitry, so only the input is directly connected to the output (true bypass).
The VU-Meter is controlled by an integrated circuit. Aside from that circuitry, the comp.two is made up of discrete components and manually wired in Germany.
The comp.two has an attack time of up to 600 seconds, making it extraordinarily quick, but it also has a gentle and very melodic knee compression for sound processing.
