The Royer R-122 MKII 25th Anniversary Limited Edition is a limited edition ribbon microphone commemorating the enduring legacy of the R-122. This special edition comprises a limited run of eighty R-122s, each meticulously handcrafted with our custom "Distressed Rose" finish. The Distressed Rose plating imparts a captivating aesthetic transformation, exhibiting a dark bourbon hue under subdued studio lighting or on stage and transforming into a lustrous rose colour when exposed to brighter illumination. The 25th Anniversary R-122 MKII remains true to the original design, except for this exclusive and unparalleled 25th Anniversary finish.
Renowned for its versatility, the Royer R-122 MKII is highly recommended for various recording applications, including drum overheads and room miking, electric and acoustic guitars, brass instruments, pianos, violins, cellos, ukuleles, percussion, vocals, and an array of other acoustic stringed instruments. When the situation calls for reduced low-end or proximity effect, the well-balanced high-pass switch can be set at 100 Hz, gently rolling off the signal at 6dB per octave. For high sound pressure level (SPL) scenarios such as capturing electric guitars and brass instruments, the built-in 15dB pad enables you to attenuate the R-122 MKII's output to match that of the R-121, ensuring a clean and distortion-free signal path.
