The Sound
The SF-24V is distinguished by extraordinary transparency, depth and midrange reach. It delivers gorgeous recordings of virtually all acoustic instruments. The Blumlein X-Y stereo image is wide and pinpoint accurate, and the mic can be rotated 45 degrees for M-S recording as well.
A prominent Los Angeles engineer said, "The best way to describe the sound with the tube circuit involved is you start with an SF-24, add amazing midrange reach and transparency, sprinkle fairy dust all over it, and you get an SF-24V." It's not the most technical explanation, but it does the job!
