Schoeps CCM4V U Cardioid, lateral pickup

The Schoeps CCM 4V was created for the demands of a cardioid with its main axis along the side. With its functionality being useful in a concert hall setting, this microphone type is of particular value in speech recording, as its slight emphasis around 10kHz helps to improve intelligibility. The directional response is well maintained around the higher frequencies as a result of the acoustically transparent housing with less high-frequency emphasis of off-axis sound that occurs with most, small axial-response cardioids.
