Schoeps CCM4VXS is a cardioid microphone designed for the very closest of speech pickups, i.e directly in front of the speakers' mouth. It offers improved speech intelligibility in very loud environments. Its low-frequency roll-off is compensated by proximity effect providing a flat frequency response for the speaker's voice, whilst showing a roll-off at low frequencies for all sound that originates from a greater distance.
