The CMIT 5 U is a premium shotgun condenser microphone that ensures superior audio fidelity, making it ideal for dialogue and music recording. It features a supercardioid/lobe-shaped directional pattern, which maintains an optimal balance between directivity and off-axis sound reproduction. Unlike longer shotgun microphones, its pickup pattern at high frequencies remains broad enough to facilitate boom operation in dynamic scenes. The microphone offers an extended frequency range of 40 Hz – 20 kHz, with switchable filters that include an 80 Hz cut at 18 dB/oct, a 300 Hz cut at 6 dB/oct, and a 5 dB shelving boost at 10 kHz to enhance speech clarity. Its exceptionally low coloration of off-axis sound ensures a natural and authentic recording. The lightweight yet robust metal housing provides durability without compromising ease of handling. Operating on 48V phantom power, the CMIT 5 U delivers a sensitivity of 17 mV/Pa, a maximum output voltage of 1.3 V, and maintains an output impedance of 50 Ohms.

The WSR 3 CMIT U windshield system, exclusively designed for the CMIT 5 U, ensures optimal isolation from wind and solid-borne noise. This system includes an outer basket, an elastic suspension, and a Connbox with a flexible cable to enhance microphone stability. The inclusion of an angled XLR plug allows for a compact and efficient design. Additionally, a windjammer provides further protection against wind interference, ensuring clean and professional-grade recordings in outdoor conditions.
