This was achieved through a uniquely designed bevelled ring surrounding the membrane, which effectively enlarges the microphone's diameter and manages its polar response.
The microphone thus produces warm yet crisp audio, with a gentle emphasis of 2dB on the high mid frequencies ranging from approximately 2k Hz to 15k Hz. Its polar pattern is exceptionally smooth and stable, maintaining focus on the direct sound. When capturing sounds from the off-axis, the microphone softly tapers off diffuse-field responses beginning at 6 kHz.
