The Schoeps V4 USM Set with Shockmount is a revolutionary studio vocal microphone featuring innovative small diaphragm technology and shipped with a USM "Lyre" shockmount

This microphone harmoniously blends Schoeps' relentless pursuit of technical excellence and a timeless aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the iconic CM51/3 vintage microphone from 1951. Yet, the V4 U is a beacon of contemporary innovation, embodying cutting-edge technology alongside comprehensive research and development efforts.

Schoeps crafted a novel capsule for the V4 U to excel in technical prowess and encapsulate their definitive concept of the ideal studio vocal microphone sound. This dedication led to selecting a small diaphragm capsule that ensures sound transparency and consistent response patterns. This was achieved through a uniquely designed bevelled ring surrounding the membrane, which effectively enlarges the microphone's diameter and manages its polar response.

The microphone thus produces warm yet crisp audio, with a gentle emphasis of 2dB on the high mid frequencies ranging from approximately 2k Hz to 15k Hz. Its polar pattern is exceptionally smooth and stable, maintaining focus on the direct sound. When capturing sounds from the off-axis, the microphone softly tapers off diffuse-field responses beginning at 6 kHz.

This exquisite and distinctive microphone stands out for its exceptional performance, characterized by an extremely low noise level and high sound pressure level capability.
