The SSL Stereo Buss for 500-series is a stereo, two-slot module and features 6 ratios, 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 5:1 and 10:1 bringing much more flexibility compared with the 3 ratios available on the original design, providing a wider range of options from subtle glue to full-on limiting. This incarnation of this popular compressor also sees a choice of 6 release times, 0.1ms, 0.2ms,0.4ms, 0.8ms, 1.6ms and Auto all slightly different from the original designs but closer to the requirements of more modern productions.
Just like the original the SSL Stereo Buss for 500 Series makes your mixes sound bigger with more power, punch and drive while also providing the cohesion or “glue” that made this compressor so famous from the 1980’s.
