Solid State Logic SSL UC1

The Solid State Logic UC1 is a hardware plug-in controller designed to work with SSL’s new Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plugins to recreate the one-knob-per-function workflow of mixing on SSL channel strip and Mixbuss compressor.

Channel Strip and Bus Compressor

The Solid State Logic UC1 comprises of three sections: Channel EQ and compressors on either side of the unit, a Buss compressor with a real moving coil gain reduction and a matrix with channel selection, routing, preset recall and access to SSL’s 360 Plugin Mixer. 

These dedicated controls include all the key controls of the Channel Strip 2 plug-in parameters including EQ, Filter, Compressor, Gate/Expander as well as all the visual feedback that would be available on large-format SSL consoles, getting you in the sweet spot much faster.

The Bus Compressor section recreates the authentic layout and metering of the real SSL buss compressor with a classic moving coil gain reduction meter that has featured on all SSL consoles since the 1970’s. 

Console ergonomics and workflow

This centrepiece plug-in controller draws on SSL’s long standing experience in studio ergonomics and workflow to create the most intelligent and deeply integrated SSL Plug-in control surface. 

The UC1 offers simultaneous and precise control over multiple parameters providing a powerful production tool that focuses on muscle memory while delivering superior sonic flexibility.

The clever design is providing rich and detailed information of your audio thanks to dedicated encoders and on-board hi-res display allowing you to quickly navigate between instances of the plugins, directly from the control surface itself.

SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer

Powering the UC1 system is the SSL 360 Plugin Mixer, which provides a view and control of all instances of Channel Strips and Bus Compressors in one convenient place. This innovative solution makes it efficient to control several plugins at the same time, bridging the gap between analogue consoles and in-the-box workflows.

Bundled with the UC1, both the SSL Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 recreative the different sections of the legendary SSL XL 9000K SuperAnalogue console with additional features requested by users, proprietary anti-cramping algorithms and external side-chain for the dynamics. The Bus Compressor also sees additional ratios, attack and release options, Side chain HPF, Dry/Wet Mix knob and the ability to trigger the sidechain externally. The plugins also include x2 and x4 oversampling.
