Believing the best way to create the ultimate monitor was to use bespoke designed components and solid acoustic design principles SP Acoustics have created the SP1M a three-way passive studio monitor ideal for mid-field and mastering applications.
Not wanting to sacrifice coherence and bass timing in exchange for bloated LF response SP Acoustics have resurrected the once popular Infinite Baffle alignment. Supplemented with some of the most advanced modern mechanical and electronic components available the SP1M has brought this traditional design right up to date. The combination of Infinite Baffle design and under-hung driver mechanics provide a fast musical monitor with great time-domain performance.
Minimal compression and harmonic distortion are achieved thanks to the Aluminium cone on the LF section along with the under-hung voice coil and motor designs.
The SP1-Monitor speakers are finished in a durable red and black, non reflective, soft touch coating for years of studio use. Self-levelling vibration control feet are provided as standard as are Neutrik speakon connectors and protective tweeter grilles.
Console plinths (pictured) are available to raise the SP1M Monitors to a perfect listening height, clearing mixing consoles and angling the cabinets down for optimum positioning.
The console plinths help to maintain a tight, accurate bass response thanks to a heavy mass loaded design using a thermolite concrete filler in a bespoke MDF case complimenting the look of our monitors.
Each plinth come with four floor spikes threaded in to metal runners for maximum stability. There's also a fixing set to link the monitor and plinth consisting of three spikes to fit in to the monitor base and three metal locators on the top of the plinth for the monitor spikes to sit in, providing ideal acoustic isolation and angle adjustment
The standard console plinths measures 350 mm(w) x 450 mm(d) x 500 mm(h) and weigh 35 kg. Total combined speaker/plinth height is 1600 mm.
