The Spectra 1964 Model C610 is a modern adaptation of the legendary Model 610 Complimiter to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The Spectra 1964 Model C610 boasts improvements first found on the V610, such as higher bandwidth Cinemag transformers, selectable input padding, external power supply, buffered true VU meter and multi-stage overload indicators.

The original Model 610 offered a revolutionary concept allowing separate peak limiting and compression, offering ultra-fast peak limiting and intelligent compression response. Combining the 601 compressors and limiter module with the 101 amplifier circuit, the Model 610 became a favourite to safeguard levels to tape or record lathes.

The Model 610 was also the first device to eliminate pumping artefacts and could serve as a full bandwidth de-esser with ratios of up to 100:1. Its input threshold of -40dBu, allows for peak-free transient, adjustable compression with low noise and distortion as well as colossal amplifier gain.
