Signal Deconstruction

The "Mid" signal encompasses in-phase components like vocals, snare, and bass, while the "Side" signal represents out-of-phase elements like guitars, pads, and cymbals. This separation facilitates precise processing.

The Gemini permits effortless alteration of stereo width, employing an elliptical filter to transition low-frequency content from the side to the mid, enhancing low-end precision and impact.

The processor provides detailed control over both "Mid" and "Side" signals. Users can fine-tune the centre position with the Balance control and adjust signal levels with the Trim control. The Solo function enables exclusive monitoring of the centre signal, while the Insert buttons facilitate external processor integration.

The "Side" signal also boasts a Solo function and a switchable insert for external processing. The elliptical filter enhances bass precision by redirecting low frequencies from the side to the mid. The Stereo Width control allows users to customise the stereo image to their preferences.

All inputs, outputs, sends, and returns have balanced Neutrik XLR connectors. The Gemini integrates seamlessly with the Hermes Mastering Router, permitting the creation of processing chains that merge conventional L/R processing with M/S processing.

The Gemini's M/S encoder and decoder stages can be effortlessly integrated into the Hermes, providing unmatched flexibility. Processors between the M/S encoder and decoder handle mid/side signals, with mono devices easily accommodated.
