Revered for its smooth brassy character, the Oberheim SEM filter features a 12dB per octave slope with a soft resonance character.
The ModStar SEM accurately replicates the circuitry found in the original Oberheim Sound Expansion Modules. Lowpass and highpass filter modes are onboard with a variable mix attenuator controlling the sweep between the two. Bandpass is also available.
Unlike the more aggressive sounding 24dB filters types, 12dB filters feature a less offensive resonance tone and a less pronounced bass roll off.
Like the other Studio Electronics filter modules, complete CV control of the filter circuit is provided. Half track and full track key modes also allow for drastic key tracking and less.
1 volt per octave input allows for pitched control over the VCF when pushed into high resonance.
ModStar SEM retains the character of the SEM and brings the smooth classy character to the eurorack format.
