The Thermionic Culture Fat Bustard mkii is a 14 input valve summing mixer.
The inputs are arranged as 4 stereo pairs and 4 mono inputs with pan controls. All channels have toggle mute switches.
The simple but amazing Bass and Treble EQ has 0.5dB stepped Lift controls alongside 6 way stepped Bass and Treble Cut controls and the Fat Bustard also features a really effective Stereo Width control.
Four valves are used on the master buss, a pair of 5965 double Triodes, the first half of which is pre-amp/eq , the second half is gain makeup in conjunction with the dedicated 'Attitude' feedback control which determines the amount of Total Harmonic Distortion.
The unique Attitude control can yield signal clean or add gain and some 2nd harmonic distortion. The other pair of valves used are the larger 6SN7 double Triode connected in Parallel to give massive headroom, approaching +30 dBm.
If you want to creat some analogue warmth, and clarity or take away some of the digitalness in DAW recordings then try the Fat Bustard mkii. The master section now includes an INT/EXT switch and a pair of associated rear mounted jack inputs for attaching a playback device to route through the monitor buss. This can also be used to check the effects of say a Thermonic Culture Phoenix compressor that has been connected to the output of the Fat Bustard. The level of the EXT signal can be adjusted via the rear mounted trim pot.
