The Tree Audio The Roots Snr is an eight-channel valve mixer sidecar designed to expand the Roots console, with valve preamps, two-band EQ and opto-limiter.


The Tree Audio The Roots Snr is like having eight Branch II channel strips with the same valve mic preamp with a three-position input impedance selection and four-position high-pass filter with a choice of three frequencies (80Hz, 125Hz and 250Hz). Two high-quality toggle switches provide Phantom Power and Padding (-10dB and -20dB).


A Two-band EQ with low- and high-frequency shelving provides simple tone-shaping capabilities and +/- 6dB of gain. Each band offers a choice of four frequencies with the LF covering 50Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz and 400Hz and the HF covering 7kHz, 10kHz, 12kHz and 16kHz. The HF frequencies have been carefully designed to provide presence without adding harshness.


Each channel also includes an optical limiter based on Inward Connections TSL-4 and features a simple gain reduction knob. It also includes a 250Hz side-chain high-pass filter to avoid excessive triggering of the limiter by low-frequencies. The limiter is activated via a simple three-way toggle switch giving you a choice of bypass, limiter and limiter with side-chain.
