Tree Audio Comp (500 Series)

The Tree Audio Tree Comp is a single-channel 500 series VCA compressor using Steve Firlotte’s VF600 discrete amp blocks.

The Tree Audio Tree Comp uses a VCA design inspired by the original Inward Connections mVC500 and VOGAD modules. It provides wide-ranging time constant options from an ultra-fast 0.2ms to 20ms attack and release ranging from 0.1ms all the way to 3s. Ratio ranges between 2:1 to 30:1 and Infinity for subtle compression to heavy limiting. It also includes a Wet/Dry circuit for parallel compression for additional tonal colouration.

The Tree Comp also includes a side-chain high pass filter with a fixed 250Hz frequency and a stereo link switch for stereo operation when two modules are connected to a suitable 500 Series chassis with side-chain input.
