Realtime UAD HEXA Core Processing

The Apollo x8 also boasts six Realtime UAD Hexa Core DSP chips giving you 50% more UAD plug-in processing power than previous Apollo interfaces. This means you can now record and mix larger sessions with increased UAD plug-in counts.

Unison Mic Preamps

The Apollo X8 includes four Unison preamps that let you track through exacting plug-in emulations of Neve, API, Manley, SSL and Universal Audio channel strips. Thanks to the detailed emulation of input impedance, gain stage and component level circuit, Unison preamps give you the feeling and the sound of using the original hardware preamp.

Mix in Surround and +24u Operation

With eight analogue inputs and outputs, you can record eigh channels simultaneously through plug-ins with near-zero latency but also mix in 7.1 surround sound for video games, broadcast and even the web. Furthermore, a selectable +24dBu option ensures easy integration with mixing consoles and high-end pro audio equipment.

Build a Scalable Recording System over Thunderbolt

Using the Thunderbolt 3 protocol, up to 4 Apollo interfaces (or 6 UAD-2 devices) can be cascaded to increase channel count as your needs grow, using the same zero-latency tracking capabilities. These are backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and 2 using an optional adapter. If that is not enough, additional ADAT I/O is provided to accommodate external preamps such as the Universal Audio 4-710d.

A Complete Recording System with LUNA
