The original Ampex 351 became a mainstay of top recording studios during the golden age of sellotape recording. This type of antique tube preamp was responsible for the signature sound of hit albums by Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, Les Paul, and Bing Crosby. It's a sound that artists like The Arctic Monkeys and Mark Ronson seek.
