The WesAudio Prometheus is a dual-channel 500 Series analogue EQ inspired by the venerable Pultec and includes advanced digital controls, A/B functionality, Mid/Side mode processing and more.
The WesAudio Prometheus is a passive EQ with controls over Low and high frequencies including separate boost and cut controls to create resonant shelf curves. LF boost/cut frequencies include a choice of 20, 30, 60, 100, 120 and 250Hz. The HF band separates the frequencies for the boost and cut with the HF boost offering a choice of 2,3,4,5,8,10,12 and 16kHz while the HF cut offers a selection between 4, 8, 12 and 20kHz.
The Prometheus offers an impressive +24dBu of headroom making it suitable for mix buss and mastering applications. It provides a warm, classic sound that can be pushed even further thanks to the THD control which adds additional harmonic distortion. Two flavours are on offer, switching between medium and high frequency focused saturation.
While the signal path is 100% analogue, the Prometheus makes use of digital controls, offering ultimate precision as well as easy recall. Connected to USB or through an NG500 compatible chassis, the Prometheus can also be controlled directly from the DAW via the included plugin that works as VST, AU, RTAS and AAX. The Plugin allows for automation controls as well as controls over the individual channels.
