The Heritage Audio Herchild Model 660 captures the essence of the original classic compressor delivering the same unmistakable sonic signature that has graced so many records over the decades
Heritage Audio has spent years researching the original design and sourcing necessary components including the 11 NOS vari-mu valves required as well as custom made transformers, to recreate this classic without the issues of the older units. The result is a truly special compressor that imparts its unmistakable glue and character on any source it is used on.
Heritage Audio has also taken the opportunity to add features to make this legendary classic into a modern-day powerhouse.
The Herchild 660 now offers direct access to the DC Threshold, a variable slope control that modifies the knee of the compressor. This feature was not easily accessible on the original and is know accessible at the turn of a knob.
In addition, Heritage audio have added a Sidechain filter with a choice of four different frequency points to choose from to specifically tailor the compression response to low-frequency. This feature makes this legendary compressor much more adapted for modern production techniques.
