This special edition compressor captures the essence of the legendary Memphis studio, once home to the modified Fairchild units that shaped the sounds of the 1970s.

A Unique Collaboration

Ardent Studios approached us with the idea of replacing their original Fairchild compressors with our Herchild models. The Herchild has established itself globally as the industry benchmark for Vari-Mu Fairchild compression. This partnership offered us an exceptional challenge—to match and exceed the revered modifications that Ardent Studios pioneered decades ago. Initially employed to record Jimmy Page's acoustic guitar on Led Zeppelin III, these modifications significantly improved the attack and release times, making the units ideal for modern studio requirements.

The Herchild 670: A New Benchmark

After meticulous collaboration, the Herchild 670: Ardent Edition now incorporates these precise modifications. Ardent’s team was so impressed that they replaced their original Fairchild compressors with four Herchild 660s and a Herchild 670. This model offers unparalleled precision and performance, making it a standout choice for professional recording studios.
