The HEDD Type 20 is a 3-way active studio monitor designed to offer compact recording, mixing and mastering facilities, with high-quality full-range midfield monitoring.
The HEDD Type 20 houses a 7" bass and 4" midrange honeycomb woofers with HEDD's Air Motion Transformer tweeter, explicitly designed for high-frequency reproduction. 300W Class-D ICEpower amplifier modules power all three drivers.
Type 20 offers performance that belies its compact size, providing pristine, effortless, and powerful sound with remarkable midrange clarity, dynamics, and stereo imaging. With a Frequency response ranging from 32Hz to 50kHz, this studio monitor will shine even in the most complex and challenging audio situations.
The Type 20 is 100% analogue but can accept full Dante and Audio-over-IP thanks to its optional HEDD Bridge card system, which easily inserts into the free slot on the speaker's back panel.
Now built into the speaker is the HEDD Lineariser, which flattens the phase response, creating a perfect impulse response. This dramatically helps with spatial reproduction, opening up the stereo image your speakers offer.
Furthermore, HEDD Type 20 includes HEDD's CoP technology, trying to reconcile the debate between closed or ported speakers. It is now possible to choose which of the two modes you prefer using a combination of plugs and filters.
The Type 20 MkII also improves the relationship with HEDD subwoofers by using Group Delay Compensation to compensate for the distance between speakers and subwoofers and create a linear subwoofer / Satellite system.
