The Moog Matriarch is a 4-voice paraphonic semi-modular analogue synthesizer that tastefully implements some of Bob Moogs iconic modular circuits into a patchable, powerful playground of synthesis pleasure.
Matriarchs’ architecture is based on Moog legacy 5u / MU circuits, comprised of four oscillators, stereo filters, stereo BBD analogue delay, dual envelope generators and an analogue VCA, coupled to a gorgeous 49-note keybed, this synth delivers buckets of charming tone with unparalleled flexibility, thanks to its 90 eurorack compatible patch points.
The collection of "modules" in this synth is really something to behold: four Minimoog oscillators, a CP3 module mixer with the classic asymmetrical clipping behaviour, 904A filters, 911 envelopes, 902 VCAs, and a stereo analog BBD delay that's inspired by the Moogerfooger MF-104M. Plus it has a 256 step sequencer and arpeggiator derived from the Subsequent37, which can be decoupled from the internal clock to sequence external gear.
And what would all that patching be without modulation? Moog's got it covered there too...there's a wide rage, multi wave LFO, a simple analogue LFO and two envelope generators, that coupled with the vast array of mults, inverters, and attenuators on this beast...give you more than enough to keep even the keenest patch-nut busy.
Unlike other synths in its demographic, Matriarch runs in stereo, taking full advantage of dual state variable filters and the aforementioned stereo delay, letting you create unusual stereo textures and tones unlike anything you’ve heard in a Moog synthesizer before.
This is a serious tone monster, delivering sonic excellence.
