The AEA Snaqbox is a two-channel 500-series chassis with isolated dual linear regulators and an external power supply. It is made for engineers who need clean, transparent performance.
Design and Construction
The chassis is made from durable steel, ensuring long-term reliability. Users can choose between clear or fluorescent orange acrylic sideplates, which provide both strength and visual appeal. The base has strong rubber bumpers to keep the unit secure during studio use. High-grade Neutrik XLR connectors are used at every connection point, guaranteeing secure, noise-free signal transfer. The unit comes with five ¼” flathead 4-40 screws, making module installation easy.
Power and Isolation
Each channel has its own pair of linear regulators. This setup provides full electrical isolation between modules, preventing interference and ensuring that modules operate without crosstalk. Power comes from an external switching supply, which is intentionally located outside the chassis to eliminate unwanted switching noise from the audio path.
Signal Routing and Flexibility
The Snaqbox features a Link/Cascade switch. This routes the output of Channel 1 directly into the input of Channel 2. When the switch is engaged, it disconnects the Channel 2 input while keeping the Channel 1 output active. This allows users to run dry and wet signals at the same time. This feature adds convenience and expands creative routing options, reducing the need for extra patching hardware.
Manufacture and Origin
The Snaqbox is made in the USA with premium components. It offers engineers a reliable and finely tuned solution for using two 500-series modules with clear sound quality.
