Under the astute guidance of Rupert as the founder and mentor, the exceptional team of engineers at RND remains steadfast in preserving the revered aspects of his most cherished vintage designs. Simultaneously, they conscientiously strive to propel these designs forward by refining and enhancing their features to cater to the evolving needs of modern recording engineers. Every recording and playback equipment crafted by the company upholds the highest standards of musical quality while ingeniously offering practical and innovative solutions for today's engineers, musicians, and discerning audiophiles, as well as those of future generations.
The journey of Rupert Neve Designs commenced in 2005 with the introduction of the original Portico modules. These modules seamlessly integrated concepts from Rupert's illustrious tenure at the Neve Company, Focusrite, and AMEK, resulting in a new line of outboard equipment. This groundbreaking line successfully translated Rupert's vision of high-fidelity audio into a more modular and contemporary workflow.
The Portico Series, a testament to Rupert's console design philosophies, paved the way for the iconic 5088 mixer. Unsurpassed in its excellence, this mixer is the only modern console that matches the exceptional build quality of Rupert's legendary 80-Series consoles from the early 1970s. Even today, these vintage consoles are considered some of the most remarkable ever built. The 5088 carries forth its design philosophies without compromise, boasting higher voltage, reduced noise, custom transformers on every input and output, and an astonishing amount of headroom. This unparalleled combination makes it an unparalleled gem in console production.
Between 2009 and 2013, Rupert Neve Designs unleashed a slew of renowned pieces that have gained global acclaim. The Portico II Channel & Master Buss Processor, the 5059 Satellite & 5060 Centerpiece, and Rupert's inaugural authentic 500-Series modules, among others, elevated the company's SILK circuit concept to new heights. These advancements amplified the equipment's sonic flexibility, allowing it unprecedented versatility across various audio sources.
In 2013, the Shelford Series made its grand entrance, further enriching the product lineup of Rupert Neve Designs. Inspired by vintage aesthetics, the 5051 Inductor EQ + Compressor, 5052 Mic Preamp + Inductor EQ, and flagship Shelford Channel synthesized the most desirable elements from legendary predecessors like 1073, 1064, and 2254. The Shelford Series epitomised the brand's commitment to delivering excellence by melding these elements into highly flexible, versatile, and dependable tools for modern engineers.
From 2014 to today, Rupert Neve Designs firmly established its position in high-end live sound with groundbreaking products such as the 5045 Primary Source Enhancer and the RMP-D8 Dante connected mic preamp. The latter, featuring the company's inaugural foray into digital connectivity, further cemented its standing as a driving force in the industry.
Rupert Neve's passing left an indelible void, resulting in the loss of a true legend within the realm of recorded music. His impact on the industry is immeasurable, and his absence continues to reverberate throughout the hearts and minds of those who cherish his remarkable contributions.
