TUBE-TECH
Created in Denmark by electronics engineer John G. Petersen, TUBE-TECH grew from Lydkraft, the company he co-founded in 1977, with the first TUBE-TECH PE 1A Program Equalizer appearing in 1985. Inspired by classic valve processors from Pultec and Teletronix, Petersen went on to develop an extensive range of professional tube equipment including the CL 1B Opto Compressor, PE 1C and ME 1B equalizers, MP 2A microphone preamp, MEC 1A Recording Channel and SMC 2B multiband compressor. The blue TUBE-TECH processors have since become fixtures in professional recording, mixing and mastering studios worldwide.
TUBE-TECH’s design philosophy centres on pure valve-based audio paths, simple circuit architecture and transformer-balanced inputs and outputs, with components selected for sound quality and long-term reliability. The legendary CL 1B, for example, combines low-distortion optical gain reduction with an all-valve push-pull amplifier and transformer-balanced signal path, producing the smooth, controlled dynamics for which it has become particularly renowned on vocals. Designed and manufactured by Lydkraft in Denmark, TUBE-TECH equipment combines the warmth and harmonic character of classic valve technology with the consistency required for modern professional production.
