API has designed the 312 SEPIA Module exclusively for Karno’s SEPIA L6 rackmount system, retaining the authentic circuit topology and proprietary transformer that defined the original API 312’s sonic signature. Built, tested, and calibrated by API, the module reproduces the signature low-end authority, fast transient response, and musical saturation that have made the 312 a cornerstone of recording and live production for decades.

The preamp delivers a gain range from +34.5 dB to +68 dB, or +14.5 dB to +48 dB when using the integrated PAD, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of sources. With a maximum output level of +31.5 dBu and a total harmonic distortion figure below 0.05% at +4 dBu, the 312 SEPIA maintains exceptional headroom and sonic purity. Its input impedance of 1500 ohms and transformer-balanced output (below 75 ohms) contribute to the signature API punch and depth, while the frequency response remains flat within ±0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 40 kHz.
