What we think
A stunning example of modern synthesizer engineering. A mind blowing collection of synthesis forms coupled with a fan-tastic UI and a fresh, interesting and unique sound which is unlike anything you've experienced before.
The Waldorf Quantum MK2 is an improved version of the company's flagship analogue/digital hybrid keyboard synthesiser, with a polyphonic aftertouch keybed, enlarged internal memory, and new digital filters.
The Waldorf Quantum features the most recent and advanced Waldrof wavetable technology, as well as other cutting-edge synthesis approaches, inspired by the renowned Microwave, Wave, and Q. And, with a plethora of panel controls, a stunning touch display, and the Fatar TP/8SK keybed with poly aftertouch, your sounds are always tailored to your specific requirements.
Powerful Sound Engines
Quantum incorporates the most advanced Waldorf wavetable methods, such as speech synthesis and auto-generating wavetables from audio samples. There are standard synth waveforms for classic and instantly pleasing tones in addition to wavetables.
The Particle Generator mode includes everything from basic multi-sampler capabilities to advanced granular synthesis techniques that stretch and mangle source material beyond recognition. Resonator mode explores physical modelling territory rarely explored on keyboard synthesisers.
Finally, Kernel synthesis mode is a digital modular environment, similar to patching a Eurorack system or utilising an environment like Max/MSP or Reactor, and it enables highly specialised applications that would be impossible to implement in the other modes. This features FM synthesis (with DX7 patch import compatibility) and additional methods, such as phase distortion synthesis, among others.
Flexible Sound Shaping Possibilities.
Quantum also has many modulation options, including six complex envelope generators, six LFOs, and a Komplex Modulator, a supercharged LFO with blendable curves. Beautiful internal effects, like delays, reverbs, phasers, and more, may be assigned to five FX slots and routed into each other in various ways.
Quantum MK2 is a formidable performance machine and a sound designer's dream synthesiser. Click into Perform mode to access Favorites Sets of 20 patches, powerful arpeggiator and sequencer tools, and Pad Trigger and XY assignments for even more ways to interact with your sounds. In summary, Waldorf's Quantum MK2 may be the final synthesiser you'll ever need.
