SPL

Founded in Germany in the early 1980s by Hermann Gier and Wolfgang Neumann, SPL (Sound Performance Lab) became renowned for combining innovative analogue circuit design with precision German engineering.

The company established its reputation through products such as the Vitalizer, Transient Designer, MixDream, Iron Mastering Compressor, and Phonitor headphone monitoring systems.

Best known for its mastering processors, monitor controllers, and high-voltage analogue designs, SPL equipment is engineered around the company’s proprietary 120V Rail technology to deliver exceptional headroom, low distortion, and enhanced sonic detail.

Widely used across recording, mixing, mastering, and broadcast studios, SPL hardware combines transparent performance with musical analogue character and the reliability demanded by professional production environments.
