The 1010music Bitbox mk2 is a high-performance Eurorack sampler and looper module that enables polyphonic sample playback, real-time recording, slicing, granular processing, and clip launching with advanced control via touchscreen, CV, and MIDI.
Advanced Sampling and Polyphony
Bitbox mk2 supports playback of up to 24 polyphonic notes when operating within its 64 MB internal memory, with sample configurations that include one-shots, multisamples, clips, slicers, granular textures, or live recordings. It handles sample files up to 4 GB by streaming directly from a microSD card, which allows for extended sample durations and live manipulation. With 16 sample pads per preset, users can tailor each pad for unique behaviours and playback modes.
Touchscreen Interface and Playback Control
A 3.5-inch touchscreen provides intuitive access to deep sample manipulation parameters such as pitch, start position, playback length, looping modes, gain, filters, quantisation, ADSR envelopes, and MIDI note mapping. Clip sync and exclusive grouping ensure clean transitions and responsive sequencing for performance or composition.
Recording and Looping Functionality
Bitbox mk2 includes stereo audio inputs for sampling, with the ability to record for up to four hours continuously. Users can initiate recordings manually, via audio-level threshold, or clock-synced triggers, and enable instant playback after recording for seamless live looping. Samples are saved as WAV files and easily transferred via the removable microSD card.
CV and MIDI Integration
The module supports triggering and modulation via CV gate inputs, offering deep integration with modular systems. MIDI input provides additional control options, including polyphonic playback and precise triggering of slices or grains. All sample functions, including granular spread and grain count, respond to modulation sources and MIDI for dynamic interaction.
Hardware Specifications and Performance
Built on a newly upgraded processor, Bitbox mk2 offers greater power for real-time performance and editing. It occupies 26 HP of rack space, requires +400mA of power with no negative rail draw, and is only 25 mm deep, making it suitable for compact systems.
Preset Management and Workflow Flexibility
Users can save and recall multiple presets, maintaining all pad configurations, playback settings, and routing for fast setup between sessions. This makes Bitbox mk2 equally suited for live performance, studio production, and sound design environments.
