Superior Isolation and Control
Engineered with solid nylon Lyres, this shockmount eliminates sag and unwanted resonances, ensuring pristine acoustic transparency and maximum rumble absorption for studio-grade recordings.
The Aim Audio ORBIT Custom Shockmount Kit is a patented, multi-position microphone suspension and pop-protection system engineered for Aim INSPIRE and Aim ESSENCE microphones, delivering superior isolation, precise positioning and refined acoustic control for studio-grade recording setups.
AIM Audio builds ORBIT with long glass-reinforced nylon that keeps the system exceptionally strong and lightweight, designed to eliminate handling noise and mechanical vibration in critical recording environments. The integrated direct-to-stand brass thread screws directly to a standard 5/8-27 microphone stand and includes a 3/8-16 adaptor, allowing professional placement across broadcast, studio and field rigs without compromise. The microphone slides securely into a custom capsule clamp that positions the mic firmly without the fiddly mechanisms often found in legacy shock designs.
Rather than using elastic bands that deteriorate over time and introduce unwanted resonances, Aim Audio develops solid nylon Lyres that maintain tension permanently, eliminating sag and improving long-term rumble absorption. The open-front architecture brings immediate access to the mic controls and allows closer placement to sound sources, ideal for vocalists, voiceover artists and engineers placing the mic in tight studio configurations. The welded structure, combined with the removable cable relief clip, further reduces cable-borne noise while keeping the rig clean and accessible.
The patented 190-degree adjustable mounting axis allows single-handed repositioning from front, side, rear or inverted mounting positions, giving engineers complete freedom when placing overheads, amps, instruments or vocal setups. The twist-clamp mechanism locks instantly, holding the microphone with absolute stability during angle changes, which accelerates setup time and removes frustration often associated with traditional shockmount systems.
Aim Audio includes the SENTRY stainless-steel magnetic pop filter, which clips into place via four localised neodymium magnets that never interfere with the microphone’s electronics. SENTRY uses precisely aligned acid-etched hexagonal perforations that optimise airflow and disperse plosive blasts while maintaining high-frequency clarity. When a pop filter is not required, the Magnetic Resorber Ring drops into place to suppress structural resonance and guarantee pristine acoustic transparency.
