AstroLab 37 is a compact 37-key performance keyboard that combines a slim aftertouch keybed with deep instrument engines, instant sound editing, and an integrated software ecosystem that unifies studio and stage workflows.

Overview

AstroLab 37 delivers the feel of a modern synth-action instrument while offering a sound palette that spans reference analogue synths, classic keyboards, digital hybrids, acoustic models, orchestral textures and advanced cinematic layers. Arturia builds it on decades of DSP expertise and merges this with a refined hardware interface that promotes rapid sound shaping, real-time control and complete independence from a computer. The instrument integrates classic synthesis concepts with contemporary performance features, creating a compact tool for composition, production and live expression.

Expressive Keybed and Performance Tools

The 37-note slim keybed gives a responsive playing surface designed for precision, speed and varied articulation. Aftertouch offers additional modulation possibilities without changing hand position, which supports dramatic leads, evolving textures and expressive phrasing. The instrument’s performance modes expand this further. Players access an arpeggiator for rhythmic interest, chord and scale modes for harmonic exploration, and a vocoder that processes incoming microphone or line-level signals through AstroLab’s internal engines. Macro controls give direct hands-on parameter editing, enabling users to reshape presets instantly.

Extensive Sound Library

AstroLab 37 includes over forty instrument engines and more than 1600 presets derived from the wider Arturia ecosystem. The unit reads content from Analog Lab, V Collection and Pigments, and users can expand the sound library through the included software. This structure allows access to analogue classics, digital FM, wavetable synthesis, physical modelling, sampled pianos, electric keys, string machines, organs and hybrid sound design tools. The colour display and navigation encoder provide clear preset browsing and real-time visual feedback, making it simple to move through large libraries on stage.

Live-Ready Construction

Arturia designs AstroLab 37 as a fully standalone performance keyboard. The chassis withstands repeated transport and the layout favours immediate interaction. The ten preset buttons support fast recall during sets, while the combination of seventeen insert effects and dedicated delay and reverb processors encourages live sound sculpting. Users can modify patches in real time without needing a computer, which keeps the focus on musical performance.

Studio to Stage Integration

AstroLab 37 connects seamlessly with production setups through Analog Lab Pro. Users can sync presets, configure playlists, adjust macros, design effects chains, maintain libraries and record multitrack sessions that mirror the hardware’s state inside the DAW. AstroLab Connect for mobile devices provides additional control over sound management and preset organisation. This creates a genuine studio to stage continuum where users shape ideas in their DAW and carry the same sounds and settings onto the hardware without interruption.

Connectivity

AstroLab 37 offers balanced stereo outputs for clean stage integration, a balanced mono mic or line input for vocoder and external processing, MIDI I/O for hardware rigs, USB-C for data, USB-A host for controllers or storage, Bluetooth audio input for quick reference playback and WiFi for software communication. Pedal input capability supports further performance control. The wide range of connections allows the keyboard to operate as a central hub in both portable setups and complex studio environments.

Included Software and Workflow Tools

Analog Lab Pro and AstroLab Connect extend the hardware’s sound design and organisational capabilities. Users manage presets, create playlists, browse expansions and fine-tune parameters with deeper control than the hardware interface alone. Both platforms update the instrument content directly, ensuring that AstroLab 37 performs exactly as configured when playing live.
