The Arturia BeatStep is a powerful compact table-top pad controller and step sequencer offering a new level of functionality and performance.
The Arturia BeatStep comprises 16 Pads and rotary encoders and is designed to work with any software from Ableton Live to FXpansion BFD or Toontrack EZdrummer. Each pad can be used to trigger samples or notes of your favourite Virtual Instrument. Create powerful and dynamic beats thanks to the velocity and pressure sensitive pads.
In addition to being super flexible beat production controller, the BeatStep can act as a 16 step sequencer with pitch adjustments controlled via the rotary encoders. Up to 16 sequences can be stored and recalled instantly. Different modes are also included such as encoder-enabled scale modes and sequencer playback modes which when used with time division functions let you create real-time performance changes.
The BeatStep can also function as general control surface and can be configured so that pads send MIDI CC messages as well as note messages. The transport can be set to MMC or MIDI CC to give you control of your DAW.
With MIDI over DIN and USB as well as CV/Gate, the BeatStep can integrate easily in your studio setup whether it is controlling Ableton, some of your synth modules or even your modular synth. What’s more the BeatStep can also connect to an iPad to become a truly versatile App controller.
The Arturia BeatStep is not only super versatile in the studio, it can also be a powerful tool on stage thanks to the pads backlit LEDs turn to a bright red making it easier for you to focus on the performance.
