Compact Power, Unmatched Precision
The Barefoot Sound Footprint®02 Gen2 delivers 460 watts of dedicated Class D amplification, ensuring powerful sound reproduction and precise monitoring across a wide frequency range.
The Barefoot Sound Footprint®02 Gen2 is a compact tri-amplified 3-way studio monitor delivering 460 watts of dedicated Class D amplification, with dual 6.5-inch aluminium cone woofers, a 5-inch aluminium cone midrange driver, and a 1-inch dual-ring radiator tweeter for precision monitoring across 38 Hz to 42 kHz.
The Footprint®02 Gen2 advances Barefoot’s acclaimed monitoring technology by refining every core element of the design. Its sealed MDF cabinet increases internal volume and damping for cleaner low-end response while a rigid machined aluminium baffle provides stability under high output. Engineers can rely on tight bass extension to 38 Hz and accurate translation without port noise or unwanted resonances.
Each driver operates with its own dedicated Class D amplifier: 60 watts for the tweeter, 150 watts for the midrange driver and 200 watts for the woofers. This separation guarantees accurate crossover points at 180 Hz and 3700 Hz, ensuring linear response across the frequency spectrum and headroom capable of producing peaks above 111 dB SPL.
The new dual-ring radiator tweeter incorporates a rear waveguide chamber to sharpen transient response and extend imaging. The 5-inch midrange driver reproduces vocals and instruments with increased phase coherence, while the dual 6.5-inch Dual-Force™ woofers operate in a sealed configuration for deep, controlled bass. Together these elements deliver sharper detail, greater low-end extension and smoother tonal integration than the previous generation.
Barefoot’s patented SPOC™ (Spectrally Optimised Conversion) introduces analogue filtering ahead of digital conversion to improve resolution and reduce latency. By eliminating attenuation of high frequencies before the DSP stage, SPOC provides a 15 dB improvement in signal-to-noise ratio, enhanced transient handling and greater precision in stereo imaging. The DSP engine further refines crossover control, bass response and time-domain accuracy.
The integrated MEME™ (Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation) system enables engineers to switch voicing between full-range studio precision, Hi-Fi reference and vintage cube emulations without moving from the listening position. This flexibility ensures real-world translation and makes the Footprint®02 Gen2 as valuable for composition as it is for critical mixing.
Each speaker measures 344 x 232 x 316 mm, weighs 15.8 kg, and consumes a maximum of 500 W from 100–240 VAC mains. The cabinet volume of 9.4 litres is fully damped, providing accuracy across the frequency range. The textured grey polyester finish maintains the signature Barefoot studio aesthetic while protecting the enclosure.
