The Buzz Audio Zodiak is a dual-channel tilt-EQ with additional hi-and low-pass filters and a midrange parametric bell curve to offer fast, simple and musical sound shaping for tracking and mixing.
The Buzz Audio Zodiak boasts a Baxandall style tilt EQ, originally found in the Quad 44 hi-fi amplifier, with a central frequency of 700Hz controlled via a single knob offering +/-8dB of cut/boost. As both low-shelf and high-shelf curves are affected simultaneously (and in opposite directions), small increments yield noticeable changes. For example, a +1dB change on the tilt control with result in a 2dB shift between the balance of high and low frequencies. The Tilt EQ delivers a smooth sound with a minimum phase shift.
The Zodiak also includes a parametric midrange band with up to 10dB of cut and boost with a range between 65Hz to 8.8kHz, offering a powerful way to counteract additional problematic frequencies. This is completed by low- and high-pass filters with 12dB/oct slopes each with its own in/out switch.
This version of the Zodiak comes with high-end Texas Instrument IC opamps and electronically balanced outputs.
