The CORE+ amplifier significantly advances DPA’s original CORE technology by fully neutralising distortion across all sound pressure levels, from subtle playing to the most forceful brass blasts. Unlike earlier designs that reduced distortion to below 1% total harmonic distortion (THD), CORE+ pushes artefacts below measurable thresholds, leaving only system noise. This results in a remarkably flat and transparent response, ensuring true-to-source capture even under extreme dynamic conditions.
The 4099 CORE+ mic is optimised for loud sound environments such as live brass performance, providing exceptional clarity and intelligibility without any compromise at high SPL. The supercardioid capsule offers strong off-axis rejection, reducing stage spill and enabling superior gain before feedback. This makes it ideal for live settings, where multiple open microphones can otherwise cloud the sound image.
The microphone is tuned to reproduce the unique tonal qualities of brass instruments both on and off axis.
